Chasing Shade.
MVP in progress · Levi's Stadium pilot

Pick the most comfortable seat — before you buy the ticket.

Chasing Shade reads the stadium, the sun, and the forecast for every section, then scores comfort seat-by-seat so fans (and venues) can act on it.

What we're building

Personalized in-venue comfort intelligence. The MVP rolls out one stadium at a time, starting with Levi's. Forecasted shade, apparent temperature, UV exposure, and time-to-burn — surfaced per section, per game-day hour.

Interactive seat-comfort demo Coming with Milestone 3 (target end of July). For now this is a foundation page; the seating heatmap lands here once the comfort engine is live.

How it works

Read the building

2.5D section model derived from the stadium's geometry — overhangs, decks, and the angles every seat sees.

Track the sun

Solar position over the game day, ray-cast against the section model. Each section gets a per-minute shade percentage.

Score the comfort

Shade + apparent temp + UV + humidity + wind, weighted into a single 0–100 score. Plus time-to-burn by skin type.

Notes from the build

  1. Milestone 1 in flight: settings, API skeleton, weather, stadium geometry
The plumbing week. Venue settings, API-key auth, weather provider integration, and the first pass at extracting a 2.5D section model from the Levi's Stadium 3D file. Diagram going up with the milestone memo.
  2. Engagement kickoff
Seven-week build to a single-stadium demo. Four milestone tranches; deposit received, clock running, status calls each Tuesday at 7:30 AM PT.
